Per 118 mL Fleet Enema delivered dose Monobasic Na phosphate monohydrate 19 g, dibasic Na phosphate heptahydrate 7 g. Per 59 mL Fleet Enema Paed delivered dose Monobasic Na phosphate monohydrate 9.5 g, dibasic Na phosphate heptahydrate 3.5 g
Indications/Uses
Relief of occasional constipation, bowel cleansing before rectal exam.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Fleet Enema Adult 1 bottle administered rectally. Childn >2 yr ½ adult dose. Fleet Enema Paed Childn >2 yr 1 bottle administered rectally.
Contraindications
Congenital megacolon, imperforated anus, CHF or when nausea, vomiting or abdominal pain is present.
Special Precautions
Frequent & prolonged use may result in dependence. Impaired renal function, heart disease or preexisting electrolyte disturbances or in patients on Ca-channel blockers, diuretics or other medications which may affect electrolyte levels or where colostomy exist. Not to be taken orally. Fleet Enema Paed Do not use when nausea, vomiting or abdominal pain is present. Sudden change in bowel habits that persist over a period of 2 wk. Discontinue if rectal bleeding or failure to have a bowel movement after use occurs. Do not use >1 wk. Hypernatremic dehydration may occur in patients w/ congenital megacolon, imperforated anus or CHF. Do not administer to childn <2 yr.
